Discover Arusha Region
Arusha region boarders Kenya to the Northeast while to the south, Dodoma region borders it. Arusha City serves as the Arusha Region's capital.
The region is popularly known for the production of coffee and other agricultural produce such as grains, cotton and vegetables. Today Arusha has become a major tourist attraction area since it is surrounded by various parks and points of interest that fall within the northern circuit.
Arusha region is endowed with very rich resources in terms of wildlife. It comprises some of Tanzania's biggest national parks, which host tremendous tourist wildlife attraction points.
These parks include Serengeti National Park, Arusha National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara and Mount Meru.
Olduvai Gorge is also a major area of attraction for historians and anthropologists housing the fossil of the human evolution.
Within these famous landscapes and national parks visitors can go for game drives, guided walking tours, cultural tours, bird watching, lake excursions or even archaeological visits to museums.
Since there are lots of activities travelers to Arusha can participate in, the general climate of Arusha should be taken into consideration. There are two rainy seasons; the long one is from March to May and the short rains in November and December. During the long rains, climbing Mount Meru or visiting the national parks can be quite strenous. The best time to visit Arusha for mountain climbing and game viewing is dry season
To visit Arusha region you can fly to Kilimanajaro Airport in Moshi or Arusha Airport from most cities in and out of Tanzania.
